The health and safety of the entire Menulog Network is our highest priority and as such, it is important to be vigilant on food safety at all times. Below are some tips to help you keep food safe for customers.
Maintaining your equipment
Keeping your delivery backpack clean (inside and out) is crucial to avoid food contamination issues. Cleanliness is a priority, so please make sure that your thermal bag is clean and in good condition prior to commencing a delivery. It is important to remember:
- At the end of each delivery you can wipe clean, first with warm soapy water, then with a clean damp cloth (do not use bleach). Anti-bacterial wipes can also be used while on the go.
- Restaurants may ask to check the cleanliness of the bag and if it’s not clean, they may refuse for you to make the delivery.
- Please remember not to keep any personal items in the bag or anything other than the food you are delivering.
Practicing good hygiene
In addition to recommendations from the World Health Organisation (WHO), health authorities have been clear that it is imperative we all maintain good hygiene amid COVID-19. For Menulog Employed Couriers, this can include:
- Maintaining a clean bike/vehicle
- Ensuring you regularly clean your delivery gear, including your thermal food bag/s
- Using hand sanitiser and regularly cleaning your mobile device
- Ensuring minimal contact with paper delivery bags and/or items collected
Please note that it is important you do not commence a shift if you feel unwell. If you need to take sick leave it is important to let the Employee Success team know as early as possible, at the latest prior to the commencement of your shift.
