Your safety is our top priority! Here’s a short safety checklist before you start your shift to get you on the road to success:
1. Prepare Uniform and Safety Equipment.
Before every shift, please ensure that your uniform and safety equipment are clean and in good condition.
You must wear Menulog provided items at all times when on shift, and follow the road safety rules described in the Handbook for Bicycle Riders.
Courier Equipment list:
- High Vis Vest
- Bright orange delivery backpack
- Flashing wristband
- Bright orange wet weather jacket
- Bright orange short sleeve and long sleeve cycling vest
- Black wet weather pants
- Black Menulog Helmet
- Phone cradle
- Face Mask (if required)
- Bike lights
- Reflectors
In cases when your equipment is damaged or missing, please reach out to the Employee Success Team employeesuccess@menulog.com as soon as possible.
2. Prepare your e-bike or bicycle.
Regularly check if your e-bike or bicycle is in good condition, inspect and maintain the brakes, tyres, lighting, reflectors, battery and chains to ensure that all the items are safe and ready for the road.
In case of any event resulting in your e-bike or bicycle being stolen or damaged and it can no longer be safe to ride, please reach out to the Employee Success Team employeesuccess@menulog.com as soon as possible, within 24 hours at the latest.
See our article on Bike/vehicle maintenance for more information.
3. Prepare your device.
You will need a mobile device with available data access.
Please, check your device before starting the shift:
- Ensure the mobile battery is fully charged before every shift. Keeping the device charged throughout the shift is essential and you can use a power bank that will help to maintain battery power.
- Sign in to the Menulog Employed Courier App (requires an Android 8+ phone or an iPhone iOS 12.0 or newer), check the time and zone for the upcoming shift
Switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data to help maps with better accuracy measurement finding the current location of your device.
4. Prepare your delivery backpack.
To ensure customer orders stay at the right temperature, you must use the delivery backpack to transport and deliver orders. To avoid minor accidents, please secure your backpack properly before departing the restaurant. You can keep your delivery backpack clean between your shifts by washing it with warm water and soap and carrying a washcloth and sanitiser to clean the backpack between deliveries.
